new discoveries

i am still awed by the new things i learn about people everyday. iba nga siguro kung una mong nakilala ang mga tao sa trabaho kasi yun lang ang alam mo tungkol sa kanila. kasama mo sa project. magaling sa trabaho. then you get amazed when they show you another side of their personality.

sample na lang si aaron. i've known him to be really good in his work and everyone knows that he's an expert in his module. but try to listen to him sing. ay, ang galing! seriously, i am a fan. si jim din! nagulat ako nung sumama siya sa amin mag-videoke. he really can belt out tunes! melai can dance. as in really dance. kahit na sa practice at sa bowling games ko lang siya nakikita magsayaw, obvious naman. carmel, may katapat ka na dito sa manila. :) pat is gifted in drawing. nakakatuwa yung cartoons na ginawa niya for our newsletter! pong is a good guitarist. pwede ngang performer ang batang ito kasi kayang kumanta, sumayaw at tumugtog. saan ka pa? raffy has the gift of wit and he really can make you laugh. pwede talagang pang-stand up comedy. wag kang makikipagsabayan sa hiritan dito kasi matatalo ka. oj can compete with the contestants in america's next top model pagdating sa projection sa camera. pwedeng mag-artista!

and to think these are just a small part of my team in the office. and everyday, i see people show something new and something good and i am just blown away.

ugh!

i hate it when people cancel at the last minute. i even cited this as my pet peeve. siguro kasalanan ko din dahil pina-plano ko ang takbo ng buhay ko sa iba. so when they change plans, i am left hanging. no worries, i'll try to make sure this is the last time this rattles me. next time, i'll make sure that i think of myself first.

pacquiao wannabe

i recently took up boxing. yesterday, to be exact. this is due to the prodding of aj, who had this weird notion that she was fat. so since we're on the same sphere (south of manila), she invited me to go boxing at elorde in southmall. i thought, i'll give it a chance. it's something i haven't done and i guess i can try it once. so off we went yesterday and signed up.

aljo and karla have told me that it was difficult but i guess i had to try it out for myself. edison is my trainer, unfortunately for him. we were asked to run six rounds around a small track and i was out of breath after two rounds. i have no idea how i was able to finish six. sabi pa ni edison, "akala ko, nag-shopping na kayo." that's how long it took me. he then taught me some combos, had some rounds with the speedball (which was so difficult!) and with the punching bag. i was even pathetic doing the jump rope. talk about out of shape! one thing is for sure, i don't have a future being a boxer. i can't believe that they are doing this as a regular training routine. well, this times a hundred, probably. imagine what manny pacquiao has to go through for his fight. ugh!

even though we did some stretching before and after the session, i was still sore all over. my shoulders and arms hurt the most. edison told me that it's expected and i should go back for another session if it hurts. so that's what i did today. i went back, even with sore limbs. i did not do better on the running but i think i did better on the routines and the speedball. or maybe that's just me. my body is still hurting and i'd probably ask myself tomorrow why i followed what my trainer told me. but then, it's good exercise. maybe this will get me into shape. or not. but for now, i'm still enjoying it. let's see in a couple of months if i'll still be singing the same tune.
