i was talking to adam a few days ago when he mentioned guoliang.

adam: did you hear about GZ? (GZ is guoliang)
me: no, i haven't. what about him?
adam: he got what he wanted.

(pause... me thinking)

me: what does guoliang want?
adam: p-r-o-m-o-t-i-o-n
me: yahoooooo!!!

needless to say, i was ecstatic about guoliang being promoted. he was well deserving of the award. i saw how hard he worked and how good he was at what he was doing.

so when we had our barrier reef team dinner celebration, i was so excited to see guoliang again to congratulate him for a job well done. (plus the fact that we haven't seen each other for a while). the big man that he is, he just smiled sheepishly and said thank you. it has always been that way with people who are really good in what they do. they don't boast... they let their achievements speak for them.

so here's a mini-toast to guoliang...

(raise glasses)

to the person who has given so much of himself... here's to more goals being reached and more dreams being realized. congrats, guoliang!
